In the book, Squatter and the Don , by Maria Burton describing life for the Californios after American conquest, the book references in a scene these ruins of uxmal, but in the book it is called Urmal, and the quote is exact “ Clarence dwelt, also, upon his visit to Yucatan, where he went more especially to see the ruins of Urmal. Those ruins which are the irrefragable witnesses of a past civilization, lost so entirely that archæology cannot say one word about its birth or death. Clarence found those ruins intensely interesting, and would have spent much longer time than the month he passed there, examining, studying and admiring them, had his traveling companions been willing to remain longer, but they were anxious to visit the City of Mexico, and so he was obliged to leave those majestic ruins whose silence spoke to him so eloquently. They seemed to him symbolical of his ruined hopes, his great love, in fact, himself. Was he not like those crumbling edifices-a sad ruin of lofty aspirations?” CHAPTER XXXII.-A False Friend Sent to Deceive the Southerners. If you haven’t read this book and want a great story and little known facts relation to Mexican history and California, I suggest you to read this book, given the relations and bad perceptions of Mexicans by the United States and others, this book gives a different perspective to the bias and stigmas that often are associated with Mexicans as thievish, rascally, or opportunistic of the Americans, this book gives us insight of quite the opposite nature, the free online website Gutenberg should have the book for free

.... I hate to piss on everyone's picnic here, but I actually work at a granite quarry in the United States and even in 2024. Guess what do you know how we cut blocks of granite?..... With a string and sand.... Yes, I'm simplifying it a little bit but essentially it's a string and sand that gets dragged over the block for hours and hours and hours and hours hours.... did you guys never watch Shawshank redemption? Did you learn from geology in school that with enough time and pressure you can essentially accomplish anything is that not the indomitability of the human spirit you guys look down on our ancestors with such derision when you should be elevating them, and proud of the things that they were able to accomplish with sheer force of determination and time and effort.

.... Yes, inbreeding and very grotesque birth deformities were a very real thing in cultures like this. Why do you fetishize it and look at it some kind of magical mystical thing when in the tragic reality is right there in front of you?????

.... Hey Brian, I had a question for you... In one of the jails in Oklahoma, here locally an inmate killed another inmate because he used dental floss and the abrasiveness of toothpaste to cut a metal piece of his bunk off and stab the other inmate with it... What's the difference between Steel and dental floss on the scale? You know that hardness scale that you talk on and on and on and on and on about because you don't understand how manufacturing works or material science or engineering or really anything... What's the difference between Steel and dental floss?.... Because the guy did that in less than a month....

I winder how the retaining walls haven't blown out. They're perfect. We need geotextile fabric laid out onder the soil at different levels, I'm assuming they did something similar?

NASA rovers on Mars have lasers that are used to destroy the outer surface of rocks that they want to examine the interior of. The damage is strikingly similar to Peruvian stone damage except on a smaller scale. Basically it is a burst of heat that is so fierce that it expands and cracks the rocks instantly before complete melting occurs.

Arh HA! Thanks to another channel, who's explained things to us, we've now discovered the sun temple 🛕 😀 As a result, you now have to tell us all the secrets 🙊 😉 The game is up! From the photo, it looks as if THIS ROCK was hidden from view by CORN 🌽 PLANTS 🪴 so they were obviously planted all around this rock to hide it from us. When I look at those 3 windows the lines on the frames don't make sense. Clearly they had the ability to cut a perfect 90 degrees but they chose to cut a V in the vertical side of both windows 🪟 but in opposition to each other. But they didn't do this V in the 3rd window. The human race went through all this journey to discover that it's just a planet and rain 🌧 doesn't have to occur, and other such things. I've been to the Australian city of Bendigo where all the gold ✨️ was and still is laying there and right next to it is thousands of seashells and sand. Bendigo was ocean floor at some point in time. It's 100 kms inland and up hill to get there today. Looking at machu pitchu, I can see the land went up and made the mountains and the dirt washed into the flat valley and is sitting there today. The Mountains look really worn down. There's a lot of mud that's filled in the valley.

I still think the "bowls" are pillar caps and the holes are a way to hold them together once erected. And I'm curious if the holes were made as a straight hole and then they came in later and made it tapered, probably explaining why it's oval.
